Designed in 1994 as a surfboat for smaller faster breaks, the Witchlet has proven to be a versatile little machine. Prototypes won the sit-on-top class at the 1995 World Kayak Surfing Championship contest in Costa Rica, both men and women's divisions. The Witchlet has also proven to be a good touring boat for lighter paddlers.
Hawaii's largest kayak dealership since 1987 we have been avid fans of Hunt Johnsen's áWave Witch models for over 14 years. IÆve had my own Wave Witch Witchlet since its design inception and it's my favorite kayak for quick paddles and surf sessions. We usually have the Pocket Rocket, Witchlet, and Classic available in our showroom for inspection and/or purchase and custom boats with custom colors can be ordered. The kayaks that we have in stock have been customized to "Go Bananas" specifications and are made with Kevlar for maximum durability, a surf pillar for a stronger hull, a security fitting for cable locking the boat, skeg boxes with 3" adjustable skegs, knee straps for better surf control, bow and stern handles, and a stern adjustable bungee tree for additional gear capacity to carry a life jacket and/or drybag on longer paddles. Other options include a 1" thick stick on seat pad, back band if used with the foam seat pad, backrests if used instead of the foam seat pad, and different types of skegs. Custom ordered kayaks can omit some or all of the custom options listed above resulting in a less expensive kayak. Basic kayak configuration prices are listed with each kayak. Recommended weight capacities can vary according to the paddlers paddling ability.
